FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. What is included in the Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend packages?  All hotel/meal packages include reserved seat tickets for all Thursday, Friday and Saturday concerts in an indoor ballroom setting, hotel accommodations for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, Friday and Saturday dinners (including gratuities), Friday and Saturday breakfasts, and Sunday Brunch (including gratuities).  Coffee and tea are provided.  Alcoholic beverages and sodas are not included in the packages but can be purchased on-site from the hotel.

  2. How many guests will be at the Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend? The Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend 2024 is limited to less than 750 guests in order to provide the intimacy and personal attention that the Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend Family has come to enjoy.

  3. Can I purchase only tickets to the concerts?  The Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend 2024 is a weekend package event which includes hotel accommodations and meals.  Individual concert tickets nor individual days are not available.

  4. What is The Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation? The Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit Florida public charity which was founded in 2005 by Cathy Powers to produce, promote, and support concerts and events, and to support activities which foster music education and other charities.   5. What time is check-in to the hotel?  Standard check-in time is 4 pm.   Early check-in can be requested directly from the hotel but cannot be guaranteed.

  6. What time is check-out from the hotel?  Standard check-out time is 11 am, but late check out can be requested by guests that are leaving on Sunday immediately following the Sunday Brunch/Artist Q&A.

  7. Is there assigned seating for the concerts?  Yes, all seating is assigned just like at regular concerts, so there is no need to wait in lines or rush into the ballroom to get your seat.  You will choose your concert seats after your package is purchased.  When renewing packages, returning guests will have the opportunity to keep their current seats or to upgrade their seating when possible.

  8. How does the returning guest renewal process work? All returning guests may renew their packages and seating for the next year by placing a deposit before the deadline date. Room type and seating upgrades will be offered once renewals are completed. Packages and seating choices are subsequently offered to new guests in the order of package purchase.   9. Is there assigned seating for the meals?   No, seating at the meals is not assigned.  You will be guided to the available seating by Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend staff as you arrive in the dining areas.

  10. What is the dress code?  Resort Casual is suggested.  We discourage beach attire (e.g. shorts and flip-flops, etc.) at dinners and evening concerts.

  11. What is the performance schedule for the weekend?  The anticipated performance schedule can be viewed on the bottom of the website Packages page (click here).

  12. Are all the artists at the hotel the entire weekend?  Several of our artists stay at the host hotel the entire weekend and others for more than one night.  However, some artists cannot stay with us the entire weekend due to other commitments.

  13. How many guests can stay in one room?  Most packages are reserved by two persons in one room. Single occupancy packages and packages with three or four persons in one room are also available.  However, no more than four persons are permitted to stay in one room.

  14. Can I extend my stay at the hotel before and/or after the event?  Additional nights can be added to your stay at the time of purchase of your Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend package. Extra nights cannot be guaranteed nor refunded after September 30.

  15. Are VIP packages available?  Our event format treats all our guests as VIPs, but the very best available seating is included with the Suite packages. However, a limited number of seat upgrades are available and can be purchased with your reservation if available.

  16. Are payment plans available?  Yes, please see payment plan information on the website Packages page (click here).

  17. Is there on-site parking for my car and is there a fee?  Self-parking in the gated outdoor lot for one car is included with your Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend hotel package at no additional charge, with additional cars charged $20 per night. Valet parking is available for $40/day but is free for our guests with a valid handicap parking tag.

  18. What is the Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend cancellation policy?   All payments for the Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend are non-refundable.  However, guest names associated with a purchase can be changed, with written notification, prior to the event for a $50 per person fee.  We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance within 14 days of the first payment made for your protection and peace of mind as the Foundation cannot guarantee the resale of your package if you are unable to attend. If the event is postponed or canceled by the Florida Smooth Jazz Foundation, guests will be offered the choice of rollover to the new dates at no additional charge or a full refund of payments made.

  19. Is travel insurance available?  The Florida Smooth Jazz Weekend recommends the purchase of travel insurance within 14 days of purchasing your package to provide the most effective coverage for the widest range of possibilities.  A quote for Travel Guard Insurance by AIG is available by request at the time of your package purchase, and you can visit their website https://www.travelguard.com/ to learn more.   20. What will I receive to confirm my package?  Every time you make a payment, you will receive a confirmation email of your room type, concert seating, payments made, and payments still due which you should save. Your final confirmation email represents your “ticket” to the event.  A week prior to the event, you will be sent an email which will include an event schedule link and important arrival information; please be sure to check your spam or junk folder as this blast email could be considered junk mail by your email provider.  We do not mail tickets. Other arrangements can be made if you do not have access to email.  Please notify us with any change in your email address or phone number as soon as possible.   21. Is smoking allowed?  The Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort is a non-smoking hotel and only allows smoking in designated outdoor areas.

  22. Which rooms have balconies?  Almost all rooms have private sliding glass French balconies which allow you to open the full-length glass sliding door but are not walk-out balconies, except for the limited number of Terrace Suites and King Terrace Rooms which have walk-out balconies, and the Cabana Suites which open directly to the beach.

  23. What is included in my room?  Mini-fridges, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, in-room safe, HD TV with cable, and free Wi-Fi are included in all rooms. Suites also include microwave ovens.

  24. What are the hotel amenities?  Heated oceanfront pool, traffic-free beach, fitness center, concierge desk and business center are some of the hotel amenities.

  25. Are pets allowed in the hotel?  Yes. There is a $100 non-refundable deposit, payable at check-in, and a maximum weight limit of 75 lbs.

  26. Can dietary, disability and medical needs be accommodated?  Yes, please describe your special needs when purchasing your package and identify yourself to the hotel staff during the event so that your needs can be accommodated.

  27. What are the closest airports to the hotel?  Daytona Beach International (DAB) is 6 miles, Orlando Sanford International (SFB) is 42 miles, and Orlando International (MCO) is 72 miles driving distance from the hotel.
